Kan Tai-keung Started his career as a designer from 1967. Kan’s art and design works have earned him numerous awards and international publicity through exposures in local and overseas exhibitions. Kan also actively involves in educating and promoting the art and design profession. He is now the Dean of the Cheung Kong School of Art and Design, Shantou University, Guest Professor of Central Institute of Fine Arts in Beijing and Guest Professor of Tsing Hua University of Fine Arts in Beijing. He is a Fellow Member of Hong Kong Designers Association; Member of Alliance Graphique Internationale; Advisor of the Leisure & Cultural Services Department and Honorary Advisor of Hong Kong Museum of Art.
Using a list of Kan and Lau Design Consultants’ client cases covering corporate identity, city image, brand identity and packaging and social welfare promotion as instances, Kan divides his talk into 6 topics: Design for People, Design for Citizen, Design for Women, Design for Youngster, Design for Children and Design for Animal. Kan elaborates the effects of visual communication through these case studies, and explores possible ways a designer could do for the people, for the earth and for all other beings in the world.
