The media is playing an increasingly crucial role as we entered the age of Web 2.0 at the beginning of this century. The mode of information communication has since transcended from one-way to interactive, from single dimension to multiple dimensions, from static to kinetic, which marked the coming of age of the multi-media. The popularization of information communication has largely transformed social labor division and economy of the past, and offering the luring possibility of “everyone being a designer.”Against this backdrop of immense social transformation, a young generation of Chinese artists and designers actively engaged themselves in the exploration and experimentation in various artistic fields with a keen eye, an open mind, and a global vision.
“The Night of Design 3.0 : Present Progressive Tense”poses a question, an inquiry to the Chinese society and its design industry, offering a new gesture of definition and proposition to the future. The exhibition presents the exploration and achievement of a young generation of Chinese artists and designers working at the forefront of creativity, revealing the effort and progress of design education in China, which reasserts China’s ambition in reshaping its cultural identity by reinforcing its burgeoning creative industry, and reshaping the world into a better place by playing an active role as a cultural leader.
“The Night of Design 3.0 : Present Progressive Tense”invites 10 trendsetting designers from Hong Kong and Mainland to exhibit along young designers from City Design School of Central Academy of Fine Arts, together showcasing the dynamic creative energy of the young generation. The exhibition will thoroughly explore new media technology and make your “Night of Design” unforgettable.
