Exhibition of Ethnic Costume Design
The Exhibition of Ethnic Costume Design displays more than 10,000 ethnic costume treasures with high artistic and research value including dresses, decorations, fabrics, batik and embroidery. Costumes dating back from the Qing Dynasty to early 20th century make up half the exhibits. The exhibition includes the following sections: “Metalwork and Jewelry,” “General Costumes,” “Fabrics, Batik and Embroidery,” “Ethnic Costume Photography,” “The Miao Ethnic Costumes,” and “Costume Design by the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology.” A series of lectures, an ethnic costume show, and an ancient spinning craft show will also take place to coincide with the exhibition.
