About Cumulus


Cumulus Association is a non-profit organization associating universities and colleges of art, design and media. It is the only global forum for partnership, friendship and transfer of knowledge aimed at enhancing the education and research of art and design.

Cumulus counts currently 150 institutions from 42 countries worldwide.

Cumulus acts as an umbrella for many purposes and projects connected with mobility of students and teachers, research collaboration, conferences, workshops and various publications.

On 28 March 2008 Cumulus representatives signed the Kyoto Design Declaration. It meant taking a significant stand on the evolution of design and design education in order to better serve the humanity and to build sustainable, human-centred and creative societies.

Cumulus promotes dialogue with such professional organizations as ICSID, IFI, ICOGRADA, BEDA, AIGA and EIDD.
